Many locals were unhappy with the new parking rules and asked the question,&lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt; "Why do we charge to park?"&lt;/span&gt; &amp;nbsp;The answer is that it provides beach services which include paid summer lifeguards seven days a week along with public beach bath houses, daily garbage pickup, and free summer recreational family programs. These programs include Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebration fireworks, free family outdoor movie nights and the cost of safety traffic enforcement. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: blue;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Rates: $10.00 for a full day; $5.00 after 2pm&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: blue;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;The charge also includes a hang tag which allows &lt;span style="font-size: large;"&gt;the patron to come and go or transfer to another paid parking area,&lt;/span&gt; if space available, that same day, with no extra cost. No reserved spaces. Cash and cards accepted.
